She sang, "hey hey"
She sang, "nonny"
Skipping through the blighted fields.
Mother called from the park bench
but her beckoning went unherd.
"hey hey nonny"
Warm cattle carcasses
made the landscape reek and ripe.
Children played with the bones.
"hey hey nonny"
Grandmother called from the park bench
but her beckoning was unheard.
She was a pile of bones in the field.
"hey hey nonny" |
