Rules of the Nest
- You have no obligation to do anything in this guild, apart from generally being a decent person. Any alts you may or may not have are welcome, but not required, to join. However, guild characters have priority over any non-guild alts you may have when it comes to instance runs, loot or crafted items.
- No Ninja-ing. It's just not cool, please don't do it. Warnings will be issued and such, as looting systems can be quite confusing at first, but if it's obvious you're being a bastard we'll give you the boot.
- Don't sell things the guild gives you. If someone gives you something for free, it is under the assumption that you're going to use the item (unless otherwise specified.) Selling it is dishonest and will just piss us off. So, for instance, if you request guildies to send you spare cloth, and you turn around and sell it, you're a jackass, jackass.
- Looting is done on a Need/Greed basis for each individual BoE item that comes up. You are welcome to roll Need for anything that would serve as an upgrade for your character, whether they can immediately equip it or not (though players who can immediately equip an item take priority.) Occasionally stuff will pop up that you might not be able to use yet, but will be able to as soon as you level a few times, train in whatever weapon it is, get the dual wield skill, etc. Saving stuff for later is, after all, quite squirrely. For additional information on guild looting policies, check out the Instance/Looting Guide.
- Swearing in guild chat is not only permissible, but more often than not it's to be expected. Parents, if you don't want your kids to encounter such language, you might want to consider home schooling. Yes, that's right, we're a guild with rules for the parents of actual members. How awesome are we? That's right, fucking awesome.
- It's NOT acceptable behavior to use a person's sexual orientation, race, or religion as a put down or insult. That means it's NOT ok to say things like "You fag!", "That's so gay!", "I bet you're queer!", "Fucking homo...", etc. Things like this imply that gay == bad, and it's NEVER OK to say or imply such things about a person's sexual orientation, race, or religion. Period.
| It IS OK to say things like this: | |
"We totally ass-raped those fuckers!" (<- vulger)
"Suck my dick, mother fucker!" (<- might imply you're gay depending on mother fucker's gender)
"Acknar is such a n00b!" (<- rude) |
Things like that may be rude and even vulger, but don't put down anyone's sexual orientation, race, or religion. It's not nice to be mean, but being a penis-head isn't something you'll be booted for. Mocked, perhaps, but not booted. Bottom line, if you're such a fucking dip-shit that you can't think of a way to express how you feel about someone or something without dissing sexual orientation, race, or religion, then you deserve to be tied down and gang raped by rabbid gerbils until you choak to death on gerbil semen. Got it?
- Don't be annoying in guild chat or while PMing other guildies. i.e. don't spam items that you want to sell (& especially don't do it in caps lock), and don't ask others to run you through an instance every 30 seconds. Once and a while is ok, but if you're spamming/harassing you'll be asked to stop and if it becomes a problem, we'll remove you from the guild.
- Use common sense with other players. Ok, so guild chat can get a bit offensive, vulgar, and vaguely resembling Barrens chat on crack, but as far as harassment goes, use your best judgement about taking things too far. On the other side of the coin, if someone is harassing you, the first thing to do is take a screen shot of it. Now you have evidance. Next, try to talk to them about it privately. If that doesn't help, put them on your ignore list immediately and talk to an officer and a GM about it.
- If your character is inactive for two months without any kind of notice (either a post on the forum or just notifying an officer), that character will be removed from the guild.
- Each character can only quit the guild and come back once. After your second gquit, you will not be invited back into the guild except in special, pre-arranged circumstances. Everybody's allowed to fuck up, but if you don't learn from your mistake the first time, we don't want you back.
- Have fun, bitches!!! After all these extremely strict and grotesquely unfair rules, it had to be said.
More rules will be added when/if deemed necessary. Please feel free to make suggestions regarding the rules if anything doesn't sit right with you.
