Becoming an Officer

Becoming an officer is not an entitlement; it is not an award; it is not a recognission of skill, level, knowledge or loyalty. It is a job. It involves work, stress, dealing with people and being an arbiter when drama breaks out. It is enforcing rules and keeping order; it is trying to maintain a stable, fun atmosphere within the guild. Officers have assigned jobs and are expected to do them. Still interested in becoming an officer? (Masochist!) Well, officers are required to read and participate in the forums and guild chat. Period. No exceptions. Officers have to be well-rounded and good leaders. They must be able to stand their ground on issues, and keep a cool head even when they don't get their way. Again, it is a job, and it is not by any means a cushy job. Don't whine, nag or harass anyone about becoming an officer; it's the best way to make sure you'll never be offered a position.

Ranks in the Psycho Squirrel Patrol

    Nut
This is the lowest rank, and belongs to brand new recruits. If there are no complaints about you, you'll be promoted to acorn within a week of joining, though this may happen sooner if you're especially active in the guild.

    Acorn
Acorns make up the majority of the guild. They are basic guild members (sorta like veterans,) and absolutely nothing is required of them. The only functional differences between Acorns and Nuts is that Acorns have access to the Guild Bank and a certain degree of respect for not being total n00bs.

    Walnut
Walnuts are members who contribute something to the advancement of the guild, be it by recruiting, running people through instances or consistantly organizing instance runs ahead of time, or consistantly crafting things for guildies free of charge (i.e. bags or Mechanical Squirrel Boxes.) Walnuts are also able to edit public notes and thusly take on the responsibility of editing a member's note if they are asked to do so. With the rank of Walnut, other guildies will know to look to you for help if they need it. There are many ways to become a Walnut, so if you're interested in being one, let an officer know. Walnuts should be at least level 20.

    Hazelnut
In addition to being known for their indulgent and distinctive flavor, Hazelnuts are basically morale officers. They're organizers/leaders of guild events -- everything from instance runs to drunken dancing outside Orgrimmar. Hazelnuts are responsible for maintaining a fun atmosphere by encouraging conversation in guild chat, vent and the forums.

    Nutcracker
Nutcrackers are officers who are old as dirt. (Kidding... sort of ) Nutcrackers are mostly former Class Leaders or Hazelnuts who are for whatever reason no longer able to perform their duties, but were collectively decided should remain officers, or else they are people who have been around since close to the begining of Psycho Squirrel Patrol and are in some way contributers to its current majesty. In any case, they're officers for a reason. Treat them as such and give them all the hell they diserve for it!

    Officer Alt
This rank is for the alts of officers, so that they can have all of the functionality of their rank regardless of who they're logged in as.

    Peanut Princess
Your lovely, wonderful, generally awesome and wholely modest Guild Leader. Oh, and Steve.
