If you get an email and it contains a link, do not click it, even if you trust the source. Manually type it in your browser.

Occasionally (once a month or so) check your HOSTS file, found under (on a windows system)
C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
You are looking for entries concerning blizzard or wow, in case a virus altered it to redirect you even if you are using a bookmarked link.

Also, get yourself an authenticator
Authenticator

You get a pet and you get some peace of mind.
If you have an iPhone or an iPod touch you can get an authenticator for free from the appstore.

Check your system at least once a week for viruses or other mal ware, a good spyware checker is AdAware, it's fairly small and fast and can clean up your system.
Yeah but sometimes web pages get hacked and they give you crap you didnt think you would get from visiting regular sites it all boils down to check your system with good anti-virus/malware programs
Kotano suggests Superantispyware for malware( free and simple to use)
if anything Avast will do for free antivirus( you can also set it to block particular pages which it then warns you with a klaxon siren)
Bit of confirmed news from Blizzard, there is a virus that will commit a "Man int he Middle" attack on your logon procedure. After you enter your authenticator code you'll receive a wrong information message as the virus has redirected your code to the bad guys and they are currently logging into your account. So start scanning for EMCOR.DLL on your system and delete it.
Now, it is recommended to wait till the last possible second to hit enter before logging in, on the key fob authenticator this can be tough, however easy as pie on the iPhone/iPod Touch version.
what I posted in general:

What you need:
1)Not a shitty antivirus.  Here I suggest Kaspersky...it even has a fancy little program that constantly checks for keyloggers or anything that resembles one and informs you.  If you have Norton or McAfee...please uninstall and switch to something better.  I'd rate Avast and AVG above the both of those (these are free).

2)When you surf the net...don't allow your computer to just run every script on a website.  This is where the majority of your keyloggers are going to come from.  I would suggest Firefox with the addon NoScripts.  Yes it's annoying at first.  You have to get used to accepting certain scripts to run.  But in matter of security...this does wonders by itself.

3)General password security.  Add numbers.  It's best to stay away from common words.  Bruteforcing...while it takes forever...it is still an effective way to snag someone's account if you know the username.

Anitspyware software isn't necessary with a good antivirus solution.

If you have a virus...the last time I had to fix a virus the most convienent removal tool was Malwarebytes. If that is your current antivirus cannot properly remove the issue.
